There's a post going around about carceral feminism without the name drop and besides the fact they're a cesspool, the notes betray this really... worrying approach to morality.
To wit, your morals and principles are not fucking pokemon you deploy only when they give you an advantage in a fucking internet slapfight. Your morals and principles are meant to be in tension with each other, because the world at large is structured around oppression and unfairness, and the only way to exist frictionless and without any kind of discomfort is to actively deny the many, many shitty things going on at a systemic level.
I'm sorry you were not born in a pure, flawless world, where each individual situation can be judged separate from the whole, but this is the world we live in and if you're not willing to engage in reality for the sake of your own feelings, you're objectively a bad person. And you will be treated as such.
Because you're obviously and objectively a fucking shitheel of a human being.
This is why people who fixate on a single issue and weaponize it to abuse and destroy others are often subjects of disgust and mockery. I'm sorry, suicide baiting strangers you clocked as Vulnerable(TM) doesn't actually materially improve conditions on any fucking genocide in the world. Harm you commit for the sake of The Glorious Revolution is still fucking harm and it's still fucking evil. There is no magic equation that cancels out the evil you do for "good reasons." At least be fucking honest and upfront about it, instead of pretending you're impeachable and protected from accountability if you recite the correct SJW incantation.
Life isn't a fucking videogame, my god.
Yes, you actually have to think about the consequences of your actions and your politics, beyond your specific interests. Yeah! It's fucking hard! Being a good person takes effort and mindfulness, you cannot simply float down the current and call it fucking praxis. Yeah! You're gonna have to question your principles and your deeply held beliefs and it will in fact turn out that some of them are wrong and you need to adapt.
That's called being a fucking adult.
Stop coddling that fucking loser mentality that wants to be a good person in name only, but never ever wants to experience the friction of being a good person in an unjust world.
This is why policy making is focused on "how can this be used in bad faith" and not "surely no one will ever misuse this or take it out of context!" btw.
Because we live in the real world and actions have consequences, and if you're stone cold willing to sacrifice the well-being and safety of others, for your own comfort and well-being, at least fucking own it! No, it's not derailing to point out that measures to do A have consequences around B, and maybe mitigations should be added to downplay those consequences. That's just how fucking policy works!
There have to be compromises to account for the people that would otherwise get steamrolled out of existence. To blatantly and callously disregard this is one of the first steps in genocidal thinking, so fucking watch your goddamn mouth!
